OHIO VALLEY UNIVERSITY accepts the challenge of being a "College/University of Promise." Ohio Valley University seeks to transform lives in a Christ-centered academic community that integrates higher learning, biblical faith and service to God and humanity. Ohio Valley University commits to adding their strengths, efforts and resources to fulfilling the Five Promise's and reaching 100 youth.
Sites of Promise
SITES OF PROMISE At Sites of Promise, partners have made a Commitment to devote their time and talents to connect more children and youth to critical resources. Each Site of Promise will fulfill one or more of the Five Promises in new or expanded inititives. Individuals and organizations combine their talents and resources to fulfill the Five Promises to children and youth. There are numberous ways to be part of WV's Promise: Your organization, church, club, business, etc. can become a Site of Promise by expanding or developing ways to provide one or more of the Five Promises to children and youth in your community.

We work with a range of individuals, organizations and businesses to better connect resources to youth. At the same time, we strive to increase resources and individuals that are dedicated to fulfilling all Five Promises to youth.
Our partner organizations support numerous after-school programs, recreational activities, mentoring opportunities and much more to help youth in the community.

100 Best Communities for Young People
Mercer County, WV
Mercer County is on of the 100 Best communities for Youth People for the third time in four years. One program is particular, Creating Opportunities For Youth (COFY) coalition, has reached out through various programs to sway youth away from the pressures of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Monroe County, a rural county named after the fifth U.S. President, James Monroe, has again been named a 100 Best Communities for Young People. Monroe County has several programs in place to prepare its young people for graduation. The county’s universal preschool, in collaboration with Head Start and day care, propels its youngest citizens on the road to success.
